Is it very important to fear God? Yes, very important. It relates to mankind’s attitude toward God. If we have a heart that fears God, we will seek God’s will in everything and do it according to God’s requirements. Take Job, he feared God and shunned evil. He hated his children’s feasting, so he always prayed and gave sacrifice for them. Moreover, he stood testimony satisfying God when he was tempted by Satan. Also, we can learn to put aside ourselves and modestly listen to other’s good opinions and not be arrogant or self-righteous, which is beneficial for our entry into life. This sentence tells us God’s requirement: Do things before God and accept His inspection; do not be subject to the constraints of people, events, or things and do not do things before men. In this way, our hearts can be set aright and we can easily receive God’s blessings and guidance. The Pharisees always purposely prayed in intersections so that everyone could see them.
