Matthew 18:2-6 And Jesus called a little child to him, and set him in the middle of them, And said, Truly I say to you, Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. We should seek to satisfy God in everything since we believe in Him. The Bible says, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men” (Col 3:23). This sentence tells us God’s requirement: Do things before God and accept His inspection; do not be subject to the constraints of people, events, or things and do not do things before men. In this way, our hearts can be set aright and we can easily receive God’s blessings and guidance. The Pharisees always purposely prayed in intersections so that everyone could see them. They focused on doing things before men, yet had no knowledge of God and nailed the incarnate God to the cross. This shows that outward practices are not important, seeking to satisfy God in everything and living before God is of the utmost importance. The Lord Jesus said, “Again I say to you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the middle of them” (Mat 18:19-20). In our lives, we all have such experience: If one does work by himself, though he has worked hard, he still cannot achieve perfect and there is deviation in his work. However, when we are of one heart and rely on God together, we can gain the Holy Spirit’s guidance easily. Our minds will be broadened and we can make up for each other’s shortcomings. Thus, the results of the work are much better than that done by one. Also, we can learn to put aside ourselves and modestly listen to other’s good opinions and not be arrogant or self-righteous, which is beneficial for our entry into life.
