True happiness comes from God who created the heavens and earth and all things. When we obey God’s requirements of us, blessings will be with us. Blessed are those who truly trust in God, for he has the faith within given by God. All beautiful things are from God. So, we should thank and praise God when we receive blessings. Although the Pharisees had high positions, in order to protect their status and prestige, they resisted God and even nailed Jesus Christ to the cross. We should seek to satisfy God in everything since we believe in Him. The Bible says, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men” (Col 3:23). This sentence tells us God’s requirement: Do things before God and accept His inspection; do not be subject to the constraints of people, events, or things and do not do things before men. In this way, our hearts can be set aright and we can easily receive God’s blessings and guidance. The Pharisees always purposely prayed in intersections so that everyone could see them. They focused on doing things before men, yet had no knowledge of God and nailed the incarnate God to the cross. This shows that outward practices are not important, seeking to satisfy God in everything and living before God is of the utmost importance.
