After believing in the Lord, we were forgiven of sins, but it is undeniable that we still often go against the teachings of the Lord and follow the lusts of the flesh and commit sins, such as telling lies, deceiving, and cheating. It’s very difficult for us to escape the cycle of sinning and confessing. We never manage to shake off the shackles and restrictions of our sin. The Lord Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the Son stays ever” (John 8:34–35). What does courage refer to in the Bible? It is called good cheer and its literal meaning is bravery and confidence.
