James 4:4 You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:5 Do you think that the scripture said in vain, The spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy? James 4:6 But he gives more grace. Why he said, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
